Next meter reading on or about: Your next scheduled meter reading date.

Account Number is your identification number for this electricity account, which is required when contacting us by telephone or to access your account information online.

Billing Date is the date your electricity bill was calculated and the date to which charges for this billing period apply.

The total charges carried forward from previous bills as follows:

• Previous Balance: The amount remaining from your previous bill.
• Payments to: The amount of your payments up to and including the Billing Date.
• Adjustments: Any adjustments applied to your account since the last billing period.
• Forfeited Discount: If your payment was not received by the discount date, the amount of the forfeited discount will be displayed here.
• Interest: If your payment is received after the Interest Date, interest charges apply for unpaid amounts of $50.00 or more.

The total charges for the current billing period as follows:

• Basic Customer Charge: The fixed monthly charge that is applied to all Domestic Service accounts.
• Demand Charge: The Billing Demand for this billing period multiplied by the demand rate per kW or kVA.
• Energy Charge: The total kWhs used during the billing period multiplied by the energy charge per kWh.
• Discount: A credit you receive by paying your electricity bill in full by the Discount Date
• Harmonized Sales Tax: By law, Newfoundland Power is required to charge 15 per cent HST on all electrical service bills.

If applicable, the monthly charge for area lighting and associated material such as poles and underground wiring.

The total amount that is due and the date for which full payment is required in order to receive your discount.The total amount due includes: Total electric charges orEPP Monthly Charge and where applicable, the Previous balance owing, the Total area light charges and the Total other.

If the Total Amount Due exceeds $50.00, the date on which payment must be received to avoid interest charges.

If you are an Equal Payment Plan (EPP) customer, the following information will appear in this box.

• Current demand: Demand is the amount of energy you require at any one point in time. Current demand is the maximum demand used during the billing period as recorded on your meter reading date.
• Billing demand: The demand used to calculate your Demand Charges for the current billing period.

• Meter number: Your meter identification number.
• If your meter has a multiplier, it will be displayed under the meter number.
• The meter reading and date at the beginning and end of the billing period. The difference between the two meter readings is the amount of electricity used in kWhs. Note that if your meter has a multiplier, you must multiply the difference between the two readings by the multiplier in order to determine the number of kWhs used during the billing period.
• The total number of Days in the billing period, which will vary from month to month.

This section identifies your name, address, account number, amount due, discount date and amount due after discount date. Please return this portion of your electricity bill if you are paying in person or by mail to ensure that your payment is applied properly to your account.
