Power In Every Story: Meet the People Who Keep Us Connected
Behind every switch flipped, streetlight glowing, and storm response delivered, there’s a dedicated team of individuals who power our communities. From line workers to engineers, customer service representatives to system planners, every employee plays a vital role in keeping the electricity flowing safely and reliably to the homes, businesses and communities we serve.
Power In Every Story is a series that shines a light on the people behind the power. In each profile, you'll meet employees from across our organization and hear what inspires their work.
Their stories reflect the heart of who we are as a utility: people working with purpose, pride, and commitment to serve others.
Check back regularly as we add new profiles — and discover the power in every story.
Meet Gregory, a Powerline Technician (PLT) Lead Hand from Calvert who is based in St. John’s. He has spent the past 16 years in the line trade — a career inspired by his uncle, a fellow PLT and role model. Gregory enjoys the variety in his day, from underground work to troubleshooting and more. The most rewarding part of his job is seeing a complex, hazardous task completed safely and knowing it truly makes a difference. One standout moment was restoring power after a storm and watching kids cheer from their doorsteps, a reminder of the real impact his work has on customers. PLTs can be called out at any time, day or night, and brave harsh weather conditions. For Gregory, National Line Worker Appreciation Day (July 10) is a meaningful way to recognize those efforts and the vital role PLTs play every day. Who knows, maybe Gregory’s daughter Grace will follow in the family's footsteps!
