We understand how important it is to offer our customers safe, reliable electricity service at the lowest cost possible. We continue to work hard to control our costs while improving safety, reliability and customer service for the benefit of all our customers.
Effective October 1, 2019, there was an overall average increase in electricity rates to our customers from Newfoundland and Labrador Hydro (Hydro) of approximately 6.4%, or about $6.40 on a $100 monthly electricity bill. This rate increase is the net result of a 7.6% increase by Hydro and a 1.2% decrease related to the annual operation of Newfoundland Power's Rate Stabilization Account. This rate increase is not related to our operations and has no financial benefit for Newfoundland Power.
*Rates do not include Harmonized Sales Tax (HST)
* Rates per kWh as of October 1, 2019. Including Basic Customer Charge
