Flow-Through Increase to Electricity Rates effective July 1, 2018

June 22, 2018: The Newfoundland and Labrador Board of Commissioners of Public Utilities (PUB) have approved an average increase in customer electricity rates, effective July 1, 2018, of approximately 6.8%. This rate increase is the net result of a flow-through adjustment to Newfoundland Power’s customer electricity rates resulting from a ruling on Newfoundland and Labrador Hydro’s (Hydro) Interim Rates Application related to its 2017 General Rate Application and the annual review of the Rate Stabilization Account (RSA).

Newfoundland Power files 2019-2020 General Rate Application

Newfoundland Power Inc. today filed a 2019-2020 General Rate Application (GRA) as required by the Newfoundland and Labrador Board of Commissioners of Public Utilities. In the application, the Company is proposing an overall average increase to current electricity rates of 1.2% effective March 1, 2019, for both residential and commercial customers.
