Two areas of particular interest to Newfoundland Power are education and the environment. That's why we are proud to be involved with groups that combine both, such as the Atlantic Salmon Federation (ASF).

The ASF Fish Friends public education program educates children about environmental sensitivity and freshwater fisheries. The program focuses on the life cycle of fish through posters, brochures and an incubation unit that allows fish eggs to hatch and grow right in the classroom. At the end of the program, students release the fish back into local freshwater streams and rivers.
Newfoundland Power has provided over $60,000 for the delivery of the Fish Friends program to teach the importance of conservation through hands-on learning since 1998.
The ASF delivers the Fish Friends program to more than 70 schools throughout Newfoundland & Labrador.
