In 2000 Newfoundland Power received the St. John's Clean and Beautiful Mayor's Award. The Mayor's Award is a special award presented to an individual or organization that has shown commitment and continued dedication to the preservation and restoration of the environment.

Newfoundland Power was presented with the Mayor's Award for it's commitment to beautify the City of St. John's, increase environmental awareness and improve the overall quality of life of the City's residents.
