Newfoundland Power was a proud Platinum Sponsor of the 2012 Newfoundland and Labrador Summer Games which took place August 18 – 25 in Carbonear and Harbour Grace.

"This sponsorship is a natural fit for us, as we continue to look for opportunities to give back to the communities in which we serve. We are committed to the development of our youth through sports, and have always believed in supporting many of this province's special sporting events," says Bob Pike, Manager, Eastern Region. "We feel the skills developed through participation in sports - teamwork, leadership, responsibility and dedication - are important life skills."

Our sponsorship included providing transportation for the athletes throughout the games (called "Power Connector"), a bill insert that was mailed to customers providing valuable information on the games as well as the identification pouches for all athletes, volunteers and coaches.

By all accounts the games were a huge success and there were a number of Newfoundland Power employees and their children participating as volunteers, coaches and athletes.  Congratulations to everyone involved!
