During Environment Week 2010, families and community groups across the island came out in support of our 13th annual EnviroFest celebrations. Each of the events were remarkably successful in engaging participants and educating them about what it means to be environmentally friendly.
“Each year, our Environmental Coordinators, employees, retirees and family members invest a great deal of time and planning into these celebrations,” says Bob Pike, Manager of Corporate Relations and Chair of our Environmental Commitment Program. “We were more than pleased with the attendance at EnviroFest this year, both from participants and exhibitors. Based on the turn-out at each event it is obvious that environmental awareness is increasing in this province, and as a result, more individuals are taking action to preserve our environment for future generations.”
EnviroFest is about celebrating good environmental practices. This year, we completed numerous community clean-ups, worked with environmental groups to plant hundreds of trees and shrubs, and encouraged energy conservation through the takeCHARGE partnership.
Congratulations to all who participated in our EnviroFest celebrations. Whether you helped to educate participants about the importance of caring for our environment, planted a tree, or came out to show your support by visiting our exhibitors’ booths, you helped to make each event a memorable one, and we couldn’t do it without you! We should all be proud of what we can accomplish when we work together!
Congratulations to all on another year of successful EnviroFestivities!
